Just to clarify: it is ok to publicize a meeting, even a fundraiser, on
this list if the meeting happens in Minneapolis. Sometimes the subject
(the US Senate race, for example), is not Minneapolis-specific - and
thus not debatable - but the meeting is allowed because the list also
serves as a city-specific "calendar" of sorts.

However, I would appreciate it if event notices pretty much stick to the
subject, time, place, etc. They should not be used as a back door to
discuss races that are not Minneapolis-specific.

I would also appreciate it if members wouldn't post on a Minneapolis
topic and find a way to throw in a statewide race comment. For the list
to retain its value, and to show respect for your fellow list members,
please keep a Minneapolis focus on your posts.
