Just a short time ago, Cub was lobbying Councilmember Colvin-Roy about a big-box
grocery store near 46th and Minnehaha Ave. I'd like to know the status of the behind
the scene positioning on this, if any. She told the community Cub had approaced her,
we would like an update.

I know for a fact Colvin-Roy is against helping in any manner she can for small
coffee-shop/market in that exact area. The owners of a new coffee house on that exact
corner have run into road block after road block from the city.

Now this was a run-down worm store (bait shop) before some local residents decided to
take initiative to buy it, clean it up, and provide a place for the community to
gather. I can't believe the owners haven't had to bail on the project b/c of the citys
ineptness and beaocratic avalance.

Since Colvin-Roy has voted for every major corporate subsidy over the years (target
store giveaway, block e ripoff,....), what's the deal with her lack of help on this?

Maybe you have to be a major corporation, a major campaign donor, or both, to get any
real help from the city in means of cooperation or financial subsidies.
