Your tax dollars at work!
One early morning last week, I was walking my dogs past Lyndale Farmstead
park where an extensive renovation is underway (to the tune of $250,000 if I
remember correctly). I happened by just when a truck filled with sand to
prepare for paving was ready to drop its load. I heard the driver of the
truck talking to 2 other workers. He said he loved working for these guys
(I assume he meant the park board as he was working on their project).
"They're usually the best money in town."
What's up with that? Does the park board pay more for services than others?
If so, what's wrong with their bidding process?
