My understanding is that the new ordinances favoring density are only allowed in R5, R6 and R7 zoning areas. Just where do you think most of the land with those zoning classifications is? It isn't by Lake Calhoun, Lake Harriet, on Kings Highway, or in Nokomis.
So, how does this new legislation help to increase density in areas that aren't dense at all. How does this alleviate the over concentration of affordable housing in neighborhood like mine that are zoned primarily R5 and up. My zoning used to be R2. I looked the other day and unless I was mistaken I am now an R5.
Someone please tell me I am mistaken here.
