Dear List members; It was Victoria Heller's reminder on The List that moved
me, with one day remaining to deadline, to petition for lower valuations of
my commercial property earlier this year. My hat is off to her vigilance in
this, and other, public service here on The List. Those who delete will not
delight in her insights.

I was reasonably satisfied, but not ecstatic by the reductions in my
commercial valuations. I saved MUCH in '02 payables, and will continue to
save in '03.

The sad flipside, of course, is that the revised valuations may indeed
reflect the cash value of the property. If you cry when values go up, what
will you do if they go down?

Be careful what you wish, and petition for, you might get it.
