Is it possible to place some responsibility on our employers to increase our
REAL wages in these financially challenging times?
How many Minneapolis employers raise wages at the same rate of REAL
inflation (at least) each year (I am certain that our astute Listmemebers
know that the inflation rate [or consumer price index,eh] calculated by the
feds excludes the cost of MAJOR items like housing and fuel costs, right;
not to mention health care costs as well)? Invariably, workers will
eventually reach a 'glass ceiling' right?
To borrow from *GASP* Senator-Elect Coleman's rhetoric: "The best remedy for
increased taxes is increased wages! The best remedy for increased fuel
prices is increased wages! The best remedy for increased cost of iving is
increased wages!"
Or from *GULP* Former President Clinton: "It's the wages, stupid!"
