Fellow listmembers --
I highly recommend giving the Westminster Town Hall Forum a listen if you can this evening (Monday, November 25). It will be on KNOW 91.1 (MPR) at 9 PM. Alternatively, you can access this talk and Q&A session online at the following link:

Parker Palmer is a wise teacher, who talks about living wisely and creatively "In The Company of Strangers".
His remarks relate to living in a pluralistic, tossed-salad city like ours anytime, but also during this time when we are more liable to be suspicious or intolerant of those very different from ourselves. Palmer also addresses how we might see and respond to strangers during a time of increasing violence in the world.
His remarks also relate well to participation in any civic discussion or process -such as this list.
I just wanted to pass this on. In a busy, often harsh world, sometimes just taking time to listen to a wise ol' guy like this can be a good thing.
-- just a "heads ups" to those who may not know about this otherwise.
