NEWS FLASH
All of the intelligent and market savy private
property owners of multi unit housing are all unloading their apartment
buildings in Minneapolis and getting "out of town" The reasons given
(privately) are the huge vacancies in their properties, insurance rates
doubling, and skyrocketing taxes, not to mention the sweetheart deals being
offered by the subsidized housing sector, ie non profits to their good
tenants. You would not believe the calls we are getting from brokers on
behalf of their multi apartment owners to unload their stuff.
We private property owners all know who have
been in the business for decades that there is no shortage of affordable
housing in Minneapolis for fair to good quality tenants. The only
shortage of housing is for troubled or problem tenants. It is my opinion
that the proper role for the non profit sector and Minneapolis Public Housing is
to house these people, not take the good tenants from the private
sector.
