It seems a little far fetched to me to suggest that the voters of
Minneapolis should abandon their political principles because a handful of
individuals (two of them elected) engaged in illegal activity. If the
illegal activity was condoned by the DFL leadership or if the policies
forwarded by DFL elected officials somehow intentionally encouraged or
allowed corruption to prevail, then it might be a relevant suggestion. But
last I checked, the current DFL leadership in Minneapolis has zero tolerance
for corruption and is actively working to create policies that will make it
harder for individuals to stray from the straight and narrow. I think this
recent incident is merely serving as an excuse for the minority opposition
to call for an overthrow.
