On this day imparticular, I think that authorities are particularly sensitive to any type of protest on this day of the greatest retail sales and beginning the great annual overconsumption binge of the holiday season. I don't know if we should expect Minneapolis police to be any different.
>From what I observed on my lunch hour today, the ratio of police to "Buy Nothing Day" demonstrators had as many as three police to each demonstrator at times at the Maul of America. Many of the demonstrators focused on antisweatshop and campaigns against child labor asking shopper's to check the labels of what they buy and be more conscious about the impacts of what they consume, whether to give as a gift or for themselves. Did anyone see the downtown Minneapolis performances between 11-3 today of the BodyCartography Project described in this Star Tribune article? http://www.startribune.com/stories/535/3463392.html David Strand Loring Park --- Jeff Radford <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Walking down Nicollet Mall on Friday afternoon, I > saw > the traditional post Thanksgiving Day anti-fur > protesters standing outside Marshall Fields.
