These models will cause us to spend huge amounts of tax money for more pavement, which will destroy the growing communities of South Minneapolis and eventually require us to spend huge amounts of money to try to undo the damage done by the "I35W Access" expansion project.

If we accept the premise that such access is positive, the project fails to provide what they say they will. Think about this: when entering I35W northbound from Lake, how will a driver ever make the weave to go west on I94; it's hard enough when you get on at 35th St. Add an additional lane and move the entrance five blocks north to Lake, and the weave will no longer be feasible - which MNDoT acknowleges. The same goes for southbound access at Lake St. When you're travelling south on I35W, the weave to exit at 35th St is very difficult if there is more than a little traffic. I take this route home from work, and have missed it more than once. Move the exit 5 block north to Lake, and it will be nearly impossible in traffic. My guess is that MNDoT will curtail these forms of access once the addtional lanes are added. They have already indicated that they will stop this access if the weaves become a problem. Then what? Then when we can't make those moves, we travel through the neighborhood to the 38th Street ramps. What about this reduces traffic in the neighborhoods??
