I thought Neal St. Anthony's column today was particularly interesting. Rather than another round of bashing RT and Council over Gaviidae, he instead wrote about northeast Minneapolis company, Water Monitor Inc., which has come out with a line of measurement devices that allow water use to be measured in individual apartments. Those interested in the full column can follow this link:
http://www.startribune.com/stories/1069/3470546.html Being the resource conservation geek that I am, I'm curious if any local owners of apartment buildings are taking advantage of this nifty technology and if there are any success stories that can be shared. St. Anthony reports that Water Monitor Inc. is discussing a pilot project with the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority, in which case, I would strongly encourage MPHA to go forth with this! Apparently, this technology is such a no-brainer that even the Bush administration seeks to offer a tax credit for those who install the devices. Wow!
