Hello list:
The following is from today's Startribune:
Rails have been installed along the route from
Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis to 54th Street
in south Minneapolis. An eight-bay maintenance
building near E. Franklin Avenue is finished and ready
to receive the first train car in February or March.
And crews are branching out from the maintenance
facility, stringing the overhead copper wires that
will carry power to the trains.

Sheila sez:
I drive along Hiawatha every morning going west from
my house in Standish to work. When I heard the above
on MPR this morning I was surprised and thought to
myself, 'wow, they must have made real progress this
weekend, because last week they did not have rails
laid down west of the tunnel after Minnehaha parkway'
Folks - I drove Hiawatha again this morning and there
are *no* rails laid down just before the tunnel and
certainly not after the tunnel up to 52nd street.
In fact, there is a part of the rail bed *after* the
tunnel that *does not* have even gravel yet.
So do we have invisible rails?
Sheila Cracraft Fehler
Standish, yes, we like LRT at my house.
