Talks on police relations delayed a week

After a second agency that works for
people of color questioned why it wasn't
asked to participate in mediation to
improve relations with Minneapolis police,
Chief Robert Olson on Monday delayed the
start of the sessions for a week.
Olson said through a spokeswoman that it
wouldn't be productive to begin mediation
when the community can't agree on who should
be represented. He had said it was important
for the Minneapolis Urban League, which on
Sunday protested its exclusion, and the NAACP,
which protested Monday, to be involved.
