Today in the Star Tribune, there's an article about the murder of Christopher Burns by the Minneapolis Police, along with John Delmonico's uncritical defense of anything the police do.
I must say I'm a little upset at the refusal of ANY third ward candidate to address the problems we're having with the thugs and killers on the police department, the sham redesign process that effectively killed any real meaningful authority for the CRA, and the weeklong delay in mediation (I mean really, does the Urban Leage really believe that Ron Edwards doesn't have enough of a problem with police brutality?!?) I know the argument that crime is going up, there's graffitti and the trajic death of Tyesha Edwards, but these problems are never solved by policies which allow law enforcement to kill innocent people like Chris Burns. I'm asking everyone who's running, what will you do to riegn in the thugs on the police department? There are many people who will continue to make this an issue!
