Yes, Dyna's right. There has been a great deal of consternation this past 24 hours within the Green Party regarding Brother Shane Price and this stadium he's supposed to be ready to break ground on. Between the state Green Party discussion list and the Minneapolis/5th District discussion list, there's been a whole five or so messages posted about it! Uproar! Chaos! If my sarcasm isn't evident yet, perhaps this current sentence I type will make it plain. Personally, I agree with Bruce Shoemaker and think the whole thing is pretty much moot. Those who have followed the Minneapolis city council's dealings with Block E and Target well know that any push to include some living wage job guarantee is going to be fiercely opposed by the project developers. My guess is that it's likely that enough council members would back off of it that it wouldn't be part of any final proposal, meaning Brother Shane would vote against it as his platform states. Otherwise, the other likely outcome would be that the developers would walk away from the table rather than agree to a livable wage guarantee and so there wouldn't be anything to vote on and the anti-stadium folks would get their victory. > In some ways Olin Moore is the authentic voice for all > communities. Dyna may want to pick up the latest copy of the Northeaster next time she comes across the river. It features profiles for all 20 ward 3 candidates, including a fellow named Matt Thoren, who grew up in northeast Minneapolis and has lived on 26th and Fremont for more than 10 years. Mr. Thoren says he's been involved with the DFL and with the Jordan Area Community Council. So there you go, Dyna - an "authentic voice for all communities" who also fits your earlier call for a North Side resident to represent Ward 3. Oh, and here's a bonus: His first priority is public safety, especially going hard after the drug dealers! Wondering what Moore's priority was? He wants to "restore trust in city hall" (hmmm...that sounds familiar!). So again, I ask: why does 3rd ward need Olin Moore?
