The DFL has long talked a good talk (the "overt commitment"). Its walk is
less good, as admit several union members/stewards I have spoken to over
the years. Just being better than the GOP - whoopie-ding! - is not good
enough. The DFL should for example have fought hard for single payer health
care, even at a city level if no higher level would take it up. It let
Target off with bypassing the living wage. Etc. In short it is much more
corporate-friendly than it as the people's party has any right to be.

Therefore, the following "therefore" is not very persuasive.
