My response: I didn't say anything about all licensure being a bad idea - only licensing of professions. And the original discussion that I was responding to only criticized the Mpls licensing of the contracting professions. Mark reply: As I said in my original comment, you have to have people in the profession vet their own regulators because they are the ones with the expertise. Are you going to have non-plumbers determine who's a good plumber? That'd be even worse than our current system.
