There ARE Kinko's-type copy shops available that are Union. You just have to make the effort to find them. And I've used them for several print jobs, with same-day turnaround and no "extra costs" in giving our business to a printer that provides union benefits to their workers.

One example, the University of MN Printing Services are a Union shop, they have 10 locations around campus that offer copying services, and I've found their prices & service competitive with the non-union shops. See www.printing.umn.edu/Centers/gatecenter.htm for more info on the one I've used.

On the other hand, any campaign is going to have short-run
print jobs that really are better done at a Kinko's-type
(non-union) shop, and it seems excessive to demand the extra
costs that go with the union bug on those jobs which union
shops are not positioned to do at a competitive price.
