Dave Piehl: "It's nice that Olin Moore may have helped Sabo create jobs by spending my tax dollars, but I'm more impressed with people who work long hours and invest their own cash to create jobs."
This doesn't sound like a DFLer talking, so he's probably being forced to vote for a member of the opposition party. However, the fact is that these two worthy gentlemen are running for a GOVERNMENT position, not an entrepreneur position. What they need to show is their GOVERNMENT effectiveness because they simply won't have the freedom they had as an entrepreneur. Lots of very effective entrepreneurs (such as the Gingrich freshman class) get into government and achieve very little of value. That's because the entrepreneurial mind is given to ignoring other people's wishes and interests in the rush to make money. In government, you simply cannot do that. Why? Because the next time you ask for their vote, they recall how little you needed them back when. The idea that being a successful small business owner is a good resume for joining a huge government bureaucracy is the illusion of those who like government very little. -------------- Jim Mork--Cooper "War is cruelty, and you cannot refine it; and those who brought war into our Country deserve all the curses and maledictions a people can pour out."
