I'm not trying to pick a fight surroundng the first amendment. I'm not questioning if it's legal or even ethical. I used the word courtesy, which I thought would indicate that its not mandatory, but civil. I'm not even advocating for permission, just a heads up. For example "Hey by the way Eric, liked/hated your post. The following quote will be in tomorrow's paper..." - that's reasonable and minimal. I am well aware that this is a public forum. While I have no problem standing behind what I post, some may be hesitant to reply or open discussion with the knowledge that it could be in hard print tomorrow. With some of my posts, I've been wrong in the past and my foot and mouth are well aquainted, my mistakes won't cost me my job or public support. There are others that I would like to continue to hear from, or hear more from, that may remain 'lurkers', because there can be adverse affects of their personal opinion appearing in print, even if they post here all the time. 800 people is not even comparable to appearing in the second paper of this region/state. Since a great amount of discussion circulates around politics, I would like to hear more from our elected officials and their staff, the real insiders. I just concerned that knowing their remarks, no matter how personal (vs professional) reach a wider unplanned audience. Anyway, the toothpaste is out of the tube and if the St Paul reporter wants to 'lift' Growing up on Chicago's southside, I got to hang out on lots of street corners, I would have a heart attack if were to see more words in the Sun-Times the next morning. That would be a good thing because my parents would've killed me. Very bad analogy Judith. Eric Mitchell Maple Grove __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
