Hello Minneapolis Folks: I thought it was interesting reading in the Star Tribune this morning. Council President Paul Ostrow believes speaking out against the war is "out of order", former South African President Nelson Mandela speaks out in his country anyways.
Council President Paul Ostrow ruled the resolution (anti-war) out of order, saying it did not fall within the scope of the councils legal business. City officials argue discussing the war is not germane to city policy. Apparently, Nelson Mandela although not a U.S citizen believe speaking out is germane.
