What seperates Samuels from Moore, and demonstrates
Samuels superior ability to make a positive change for
Ward 3, when it comes to fighting against the drug
dealers and gangs that inhabit our neighborhoods, is
that while Don is 'fighting' the dealers to cease and
decist their criminal activity, he is hands-on
actively 'fighting' to change the dysfunctional
environments that leave these young men & young women
facing nothing but closed doors on a path leading down
the wrong road to failure. Many, many, many aspects of
society are the cause of the lack of options that
bring these adolescents into this lifestyle. Don
recognizes that and has choosen to give of his flesh,
blood and alot of sweat to fight for these young
people. He picked this choice out of a barrel of
other choices he and his family had at hand, he picked
it years before an oppurtunity to represent his people
(black, white, yellow, brown, gray, purple, ALL
people) was even presented, he will continue BOTH
fights regardless of what happens at the polls
tomorrow.
Dyna, I ask you this:
>When was the last time Olin Moore hosted an
afternoon of tutoring to at-risk youth in his living
room?
>When was the last time Olin Moore approached a
gang-member on the street corner and informed him that
he was not welcome and would have to leave?
>When was the last time Olin Moore even attended
his own neighborhood board meeting, never mind
developed successful forums that would bring sworms of
neighbors together to rally for the positive changes
that have been taking place in Jordan? ( Correct me
if I am wrong but I recall a neighbor of Moore's who
made a post on this list saying he didn't even know
Moore lived in his neighborhood unitl this special
election started getting publicity, WHAT IN THE
WORLD?!?!?!?!?!)
You say you wish things were going 'that well' in
Hawthorne. You suggest that property owners of these
'empty houses' dump their property now before it
really tanks. It makes me incredibly sad to see such
a negative attitude.
I personally invite you to Jordan, as a visitor or
perhaps as a future resident. We will welcome you as
everyone has welcomed me, a young, single, white,
professional, first-time homebuyer who 7 months ago
stumbled into the best kept secret of Minneapolis.
The momentum here is truely amazing and we have many
dedicated people to thank for that, but may I speak
for all Jordan residents when I say we have The
Samuels Family to thank for the wind behind the
momentum.
Or perhaps you want to stay in Hawthorne, here's an
idea for you: You can stay in the home that I'm sure
you love, avoid the hassle and expense of moving to
Jordan, enjoy, relish and bask in seeing dramatic
changes in your neighborhood. Sound too good to be
true? Here's how it can be done: You can make a vote
tomorrow that will bring this Hurricane of Positivity
and Change a few blocks over and throughout the rest
of Ward 3 and the City Council. Vote for Don Samuels.
Just think about it! No one will ever know that you
broke the mold unless you want them to! Ballots are
anonymous!
As a matter of fact, if you'd like to be a part of
such an inspiring movement, I personally invite you to
Don's victory party tomorrow night, you can be my
guest, I will introduce you to all the wonderful
people I have been honored to meet and we will all
welcome you into this new family of fighters for
positive change. If you're interested in my
invitation, simply email me and we can make further
arrangements. It may be the most rewarding thing you
ever do for yourself. And hey, if your not satisfied,
you can always return to the negative, un-fulfilling
side of politics which prompted this discussion in the
first place.
