Trim it, for God's Sake!!!

Whoosh. About 90 percent of that last digest was just quoting.
Unnecessary quoting. I don't see anything but laziness to explain
the existence of a quote of the entire previous message when there
is no direct reference to its points. Anybody ever heard of
excerpting the relevant part and then responding to it? Also, if
what you intend to do is give your opinion, what is the need
of a quote at all. My scrollbar gets overworked in reading these
digests that are mostly untouched quotes. Hard workers live
longer. Trim it. Your doctor would approve.

OD-ed on Govts:

Back to the too-many-governments problem. There are many
things to criticize, but what I hate is the unwillingness to accept
roles. What does the Minneapolis government do that a
fittingly resourced department in the county couldnt? If the
county can take care of health, why couldnt it take care of
education? In fact, maybe if the county had both the schools
and the courts, it would do something IN the schools to prevent
so many kids from ending UP in the courts! Not a certainty,
but it is an interesting point to me. I think the current commis-
sioner districts are a nice size for a political district. And elections
would be easier to comprehend. I wonder what our legislators
think the political hurdles would be.

3rd Ward

Well, thank God, tomorrow the suspense should end. Somebody
is going to get elected and we'll get to discuss other things.
Hope everyone of you who thought this was so important is
out there voting.

Our Friends in Blue

I agree with those who say the urge to come to a verdict on these
stories is a little too rapid. I don't blame cops for thinking there's
a lynching party. About the only thing I can say AGAINST them
is there's a tendency on their part to deny there being truth in
ANY allegation against another uniform. If they could just
maybe hold their tongues for once, the sympathetic would
come out of the woodwork.
