Hi folks - I realize there have been a few fingers stuck in a few eyes lately. The instigators will be warned, the rest of you, please send personal shots to the person you disagree with OFF-LIST, or make your comments non-inflammatory, -insulting, etc. according to the rules.
Don't let personal provocation goad you into compounding the sin. Again, the rules against inflammatory and insulting rhetoric don't stifle disagreement. You can still say someone or something is wrong. But terms like, yes, "cult" are over the line. And too much time spent on personalizing disputes will kill the list. By the way, I thought members would be interested in a note I received from a departing member. When people unsubscribe, I ask them to tell me why. This note is printed with permission, and is typical of the #1 reason people leave: "The primary reason for leaving the issues forum was that it seemed more like a chat group for some and a place for character assassination for others. The same 20 or so people post on a daily basis, leaving the content lacking at times. Although it provides a venue to disseminate important information, this information seems to few and far between." Sent by Elena Gardner David Brauer List manager TEMPORARY REMINDER: 1. Send all posts in plain-text format. 2. Cut as much of the post you're responding to as possible. ________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A City-focused Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
