To Craig et all: You complain about people dumping stuff in your cans. Well, at 2 of my duplex properties that have been vacant for almost 3 years, the City of Minneapolis still charges me for pickup even though the water is off and I have no cans - a total of over $4,000 to date.
I complained at least 8 times and I finally went to the kangaroo City assessment hearing last fall. Guess what, the idiot referee of course ruled against me and I will now have to sue the City in Court. The City argued that since the cans had been stolen, I was responsible for continued service unless I found the missing cans! Can you believe this??? Again the taxpayers will foot the legal fees as I fight and obviously win at trial this year. Thats our City gestapo and idiotic water and garbage departments at work.
