Vicky comments: I've been told by two credible sources that mom and pop are actually selling their properties to some cash-rich drug dealers from Chicago. Mom and pop get high prices for their real estate and the successful dealers get a place from which to do business (they have found it increasingly difficult to rent such locations.) I personally wouldn't want to "encourage or pressure" these guys into fixing up their property. On the other hand, their presence pumps up real estate values, thus property taxes. More on this subject will be surfacing over the next few weeks, thus my sources must remain confidential for now.
