Jim Mork talks about how the original intent of the interstate defense
highway system wasn't to go into cities.

That's true.  Now, go back and find out which city leaders appealed for
the interstates to come into and through Minneapolis and Saint Paul
because they expected that the cities' economic futures were at risk if
the highways bypassed the cities.

Let's see, who was the mayor of Minneapolis in the early to mid- 50s?

Oh, for those who think that another lrt line would get lots of federal
funding, did you see Sabo's comment that Hiawatha was one of a few projects
that are getting the "full funding" for the next year that they expected?
