Thursday evening, my date and I decided to go to dinner and to see the 7:00 p.m. showing of "Chicago." I suggested Block E since I had never seen it.
First we checked out Hard Rock - too noisy and no one was in the restaurant, though a handful of people were at the bar. We walked around the common areas, but the only people we saw were a couple of swarms of junior thugs (the crotches of their jeans hanging at knee level) and a couple of nice looking young men in blue uniforms with guns on their hips.
At about 5:30 we decided to eat at Hopscotch. We were the only two customers in the restaurant until nearly 7:00 when we went upstairs to the theater. Doug mentioned that he had eaten lunch at Hopscotch on Tuesday - there were no customers then either.
The theater was quite nice and very comfortable, but there were only six other people in the entire auditorium. No one was milling around the lobby either.
I had parked underneath the IDS Center, so we walked down 7th Street (north side) at about 9:45. It seemed like we were in France because there were so many rude teenagers blocking the sidewalk.
I won't be going back to Block E for a long while, so do Listmembers know any other conservative hangouts in Minneapolis?
