Thank you Wizard for your account of Rybak's meeting. Given that Olsen couldn't be there, whether his excuse was valid or not, Rybak could've at least stayed for the entire meeting or brought a higher ranking police officer with him. Now I know I've spoken out against the state legislature imposing elections on Minneapolis this year, but if we have them maybe we could use the opportunity to recall Rybak? Or perhaps we could call a full election this year, where the Mayor also goes up for reelection, to avoid another election in two years. Do any of the forum members familiar with election laws and ordinances have any ideas about this? It's definitely time for Rybak to go, though, on the other hand, I have to agree with Jim Mork's insight that as long as we have a war on drugs we'll have rogue cops and gangs as well. If Rybak were to have the insight and courage to speak out against the war on drugs and how it's tying his hands in regard to crime and police brutality, I might recover the respect and trust I once had for him. As it is now he's very much a part of the problem.---------Peter Schmitz, CARAG
