It just proves a point I made a while back. The leaders of communities, are so passionate about issues, that "THEIR" need to be heard, often comes before those of us, that really need to be the ones talking; Often times resulting in duplicate messages. Now, I was not there at the meeting's; However, I have been reading from the list.
If the Mayor and the Native American community, had already agreed to terms and agenda of the community meeting, and the leaders of that community went on for 21/2 hours about things previously addressed, Then I do not hold the mayor accountable to having to leave early. After all, he is the mayor, and problems go on twenty-four hours a day.
(WM) The Chief of Police, sick or not, needed to be there. He could have made the excuse of sickness to leave early, but he had to show up
as a matter of respect.
(VF) Wizard, how many times have you been sick; Stuck in bed? Can a person be sick, anymore?? I am not taking up for the Chief of Police, but it seems as though we are starting to nit pick about everything and anything. The issues are sensitive and emotions are running high, but in order to be effective in the precious few hours of ear time with politicians, one must weigh what is important and of urgent matters only. To repeat, what already been said, only just spins the wheels.
I think, instead of badgering the elected person the city of Minneapolis voted in, I think we should be a little more supportive, of who we put in office. Maybe offer of advice, include the real people who are affected by the issues.
