Jon sez: The Earth is in balance. Always is. It's a self correcting
probably perfect organism. If some infestation of parasites unduly irritates
her skin; she will shed them without second thought (perfection requires no
second thoughts).
We parasites however, require a sixteen theater multiplex of second
thought. With endless reviewings and cheap snacks.Unless, apparently, you're
the President.
Okay , back to list thread: Annie , I think the great stories about first
apartments show two things for sure: city scruffs have great tales yes, but
tales about the first burst of freedom in young lives are necessarily
optimistic and fun. They're suppposed to be a tributary, one of the renewing
lies that keep our mythology flowing. In my post about the Hippie Habitat (
by the way kids, we never actually called ourselves Hippies ) I left out all
the hilarious sex drugs and rock & roll material . I also left out the fact
that there were riots in the streets of that Summer of Love. My roomy was in
a slightly underground group called the Black Patrol and was carrying a .38
he really didn't know how to use.Speedballs and serious smack showed up on
the streets while we were still giggling over our nickle bags, and ( Dragnet
music----DUM-DA-DUM-DUM!) looming over all the peasant males: the Draft.
Life lurks. We'll deal with it. These stories ---this list--- are just
part of that process. Now about HF67---so you think that's been thoroughly
discussed?
