I know we are trying to end the first apt stories... But, I cannot help
myself.

My first apartment (after dorm life) was at the Colony in Richfield
Minnesota. It is still there on the corner of 76th St. and 35W. I lived
there with my brother in 1987. Our rent for the 2 bedroom town home was
$650/month. The $325/month was easy compared to my student loans and money
I owed my father!

15 years later, I am now a full time real estate investor. I currently have
2 bedroom apartments available, with similar amenities to what I had at the
Colony (only apartments -- not town homes), for $699 per month. My rent is
$50 more per month than I paid 15 years ago...

Jim Mork asked "So, now which of you geniuses is renting for $390/month?" I
am aware of no one renting apartments for $390/month. My best are studios
at $499/month

So, do you propose that we:

a) spend millions to building new apartments with subsidized tax dollars
that cost us (as Vicky pointed out) $148,541 per apartment and give tax
write offs to the rich?

or

b) Create gap funding programs to move homeless folk into existing
apartments and/or help people buy their own homes through programs like Mr.
Graham proposed?

Regards, Bill.
