A participant who always seems to be on the side of spending money says:"When no
compensation of any sort is offered, the only people who can attend are the feckless
and the very powerful/wealthy."

Wait a minute. I went to the citizen's fair and learned about all the volunteer
opportunities. A great number of them were unpaid. Do we SERIOUSLY mean to say
anyone who seized an opportunity to improve the city without pay becomes "feckless"?

It seems an apology is due here to people who work in ANY kind of volunter position
without pay. It is quite insulting to think their dedication to the city is
characterized as "feckless".
