The issue here is money. I understand the need to keep the streets open.
But four or five inches of snow is not a disaster. This snow will be gone
by this weekend.

I live in a relatively lightly populated area and had a truck parked on a
street which had been plowed once and got a ticket. The scrupulous agent
noted "plowed in." Yeah, the windrow was about 4" high. Are we hiring
people from Kuwait to determine the severity of our driving conditions?

Remember the movie "Airport" and its Conga Line of snow plows clearing the
runways? Well
Monday morning, I noted a Conga Line of heavy duty plows barreling down 41st
street, keeping it open in case a plane wanted to land.

If the City Departments are going to survive the projected budget cuts, they
are ALL going to have to learn to perform their functions in a more
economical manner. This is just a petty example.

While I agree with his point, we need to consider how much money the city
makes from the tickets for illegal parking tickets. <snip>
These tickets of course are handed out in only our most densely populated
areas, not all areas.<snip?
