Sorry to disappoint, I drive a pickup with no commercial markings used for personal use. And it is the first parking ticket I have had in maybe 20 years. I was wrong. I can handle the $20.
But why were they out ticketing and plowing on Monday when the snow is about to melt? Shouldn't they be hoarding their budgets now? That is the question. There are a bunch of departments in City Hall and the Court House who are going to have to learn a different way to do their jobs. That is the point of my message. Otherwise, many of them will be out on the streets. In other words, if you have a small biz that includes a commercial truck, you cannot keep it on your driveway at the end of the day. You "opened the door" in this matter, and piqued my curiosity. You were disparaging what would appear to be an extremely thorough job by City snowplows, and ticket issuers. Your "grind" was clearly the ticket you received. Rather then saying, 'I parked my truck on the street...' in your narrative, you said, " I live in a relatively lightly populated area and had a truck parked on a street which had been plowed once and got a ticket." To help determine the impact of plowing policies in our residential neighborhoods, I would like you to clarify a few details of your narrative: Do you possess a driveway adjacent to your home? Do you routinely NOT park your truck in your own driveway? Is your truck to large to legally park it overnight in your own driveway? Do you routinely use public streets to store your truck when it is not being utilized? If so. is it often parked near other peoples' homes or businesses?
