List members - I've heard that STRIDE,
www.stride-mn.org, the group that formed to oppose
Peter McLaughlin's excessive "Access Project" for
bigger freeways, promoting instead more sensible
options has won the endorsement of the Green Party of
Minnesota. This is great! Keep it up STRIDE; does
anyone have more details and/or speculation about what
this may mean for McLaughlin's freeway expansion?

(JC)
Yes, STRIDE has received the state Green Party
endorsement. The Greens are not alone in opposing
this project. The public servants representing the
Lake St./35W area, including Councilmembers Lilligren
and Zimmerman, State Representatives Clark and Walker,
and State Senator Berglin have all spoken out against
the project. Peter McLaughlin, who ten years ago
shamed the downtown council for not pursuing light
rail along 35W, now stands alone defending the
indefensible: a flyover ramp to nowhere.

Check out www.stride-mn.org for a humorous grass-roots
angle on this issue. I also recommend the Sustainable
Transportation Project for alternative infrastructure
ideas which should be applied, but are nowhere to be
found in the Excess Project.
