Judith Yates Borger writes:

"Although police and fire make up 55 percent of the city's $260 million
general fund, they are being cut significantly less than most other city
departments. That's because the council has set the core services of
police, fire and public works as the highest budget priority."

Vicky wonders:

How many sets of books does Minneapolis have?

When we meet with Standard & Poors - we're rich!

When we meet with the legislature - we're poor!

In the 2003 Truth in Taxation budget - Police and Fire are 12% of the total

In the General Fund (above, what year?) - Police and Fire are 55% of the
total

I have looked at fifty different financial reports - none of them match!

Could we pick ONE and stick to it! Then maybe we could get our property
tax statements to conform too: Now that would be Truth in Taxation!!!!!!
