Scott Persons:

The reason I pointed out the issue of subsidies on the
Healy block is because I find it a little disingenuous
for those who may have gotten subsidies to improve
their homes are some of the people making the loudest
noise against investments that the rest of the
community can take advantage of.

David Piehl writes:

So, let me get this straight: you believe that because
some people might have gotten a subsidy for their
home, they are not to be taken seriously when they
oppose a project they perceive to be a boondoggle?
Lets get some help from Merriam-Webster's Collegiate
Dictionary:

marginalize
Pronunciation: 'mrj-n&-"lIz, 'mr-j&-n&l-"Iz
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): -ized; -izing
Date: 1970
: to relegate to a marginal position within a society
or group

You are marginalizing people who disagree with you
because you believe that somewhere somehow they may
have gotten a subsidy. If that isn't bad enough, your
assumption of subsidies is unfounded. For the record,
Healy Historic District homeowners did NOT get
subsidies. There was subsidy involved in the MCDA
rehabilitation of the three homes they owned - those
homes were sold at the market rate to new homeowners.
I know it's difficult for some "big government"
proponents to understand, but the restoration of the
Healy Historic District has been resident driven, and
the result of a lot of sweat and home equity loans.
We're even paying 100% of the cost of the pedestrian
scale lighting that was installed!

Scott Persons:

First of all, I didn't say STRIDE was responsible for
Raucous Caucus, I said that if raucous caucus had the
courage to identify themselves than we would probably
see that some of them were also leaders of STRIDE.
There is one way to prove wrong, and it has to do with
signing your name to the material you create. Until
the creators of raucous caucus come forward to prove
me wrong I will let my charges of cross-pollination
between the groups stand.

David Piehl writes:

Guilty until proven innocent! That attitude says alot
about the PAC & the Excess Project.

STRIDE takes credit for the material on the STRIDE
website. What the Raucous Caucus folks do is up to
them. If it's a witch hunt you're interested in, then
that is up to you. Quite frankly - it could just as
easily be YOU who created Raucous Caucus!
