The Harrison neighborhood is likely going to get a mixed use (high mix of low income) in the old Queen Care site (Penn & Glenwood) jammed down its throat by CCHT. This 60 unit development is going to be creating some density issues because they can't move buildings due to historic limitations that they themselves did not research before they bought the property.
Overwhelmingly, the neighborhood reception has been negative over the last year. There are supporters but those who have been there cannot not deny the negative reception so far. Nonetheless, CCHT has been, for all intents and purposes, a big bully. Harrison is a top 10 poverty neighborhood already. CCHT and apparently the powers-that-be want to keep it that way. Caring neighbors, however, do not. I am trying to start a campaign to better combat CCHT's resources that give them the ability to gloss over neighborhood concerns. Does anyone have experiences, anecdotes and/or preferably facts that can help me? The final neighborhood meeting is 4/1 and the board votes 4/14. Jason Sittko Harrison TEMPORARY REMINDER: 1.
