(Jim Graham) I am also saddened by Don Samuels failing to support neighborhoods. I guess Don owes more to Rybak's cadre than he owes to the neighborhoods. Jordan and Hawthorne have shown a clear appreciation for home ownership and yet a vote to sustain the CD committee vote?

I am very sadden by this as well, it's as if, the council has said no! to people trying to make a better life for themselves. Before and during the elections, many of politicians took to the list, talking
about homeless issues. This could have been a wonderful way to show the people of Minneapolis, that it is possible to become a homeowner. You know the "American Dream," or is it dreams for some and streets for the others....Does make you wonder, what is going on down there up under the clock.

(Jim Graham)
I always thought Peter McLaughlin was too valuable at Hennepin County, and we did not want him to change jobs. After that vote maybe we should
look again. Perhaps it is time to start recruiting a whole new batch of political candidates. Perhaps ones who actually support the
neighborhood people rather than just making campaign promises. Mark Stenglein is another politician who voted to support neighborhoods and
poor people. He and Peter McLaughlin are politicians who put wise
housing decisions and planning ahead of the political fluff and
developer cronies that some present City politicians favor.

(Vanessa)
I totally agree, with you on Peter. He has always supported and have always did for those who could not be heard. I think he would make a great mayor..Yeah, those pesky little campaign promises.....get's us in the community in trouble all the time....

We need leadership who is not afraid to speak out for those that can't be heard. We leadership that does not mind breaking from the ranks and the promises of the "election dance," to do for citizens. As I have said in an earlier post, we need to come together and show and educate those uneducated on issues of importence within their own communities,
regardless if they are renters or owners, all need to be
educated.....Hmmmm, I just gave myself an idea...

The mediation: all I can say is "Go Figure." I guess, Minneapolis is not interested in making "our" communities better or safer.
