Another large cause of lead poisoning in children is outside the house in the dirt where the sod has worn away. I have seen many rental properties where the sod has completely worn away and kids play in the dirt and stick those dirty little hands into their mouths. So, in addition to paint, we need to find a solution to the lack of sod. The answer is not as simple as saying the landlord should replace it. Often times they do that again and again. People don't use the sidewalks and don't stay off the lawns when they are still fragile and don't water them. The new sod dies and your back to the same old problem.
