The local anti-war movement needs to get creative.

Not only are the demonstrations and marches depleting the city's scant reserves by
lining the pockets of rogue cops with overtime pay, but they're doing nothing to stop
the war. (How many years now have people been standing on the Lake Street Bridge
every Wednesday?)

How about considering some tactics now being discussed in Europe that are not illegal,
less expensive for taxpayers, and more likely to bring the warmongers to their knees?

My favorite idea is boycotting all American films. Very painless when you consider
that 99.9% of all movies made in this country are crap.

Another idea is getting a bunch of people to go to every Starbucks in Minneapolis each
morning, buy their cheapest beverage, and then occupy all their tables for the entire
day. If this happens to break any anti-loitering ordinances on the book then shifts
could be organized.

I'm sure other members on this list can think of more tactics that wouldn't incur
legal trouble, fines and outrageous restitution fees. I'd love to hear about them.

Even though I've been attending many anti-war demonstration in Minneapolis myself, I'm
getting rather tired of all the banal slogans and chants. Especially when the weather
is nasty.
