No loan should ever be forgiven. If they had intended it as a GRANT it
would have been originally done so. Minneapolis acts like they are managing
the collection of $2.00 fees to get in at a beer keg'er. Wherethell is the
fiduciary responsibility of these people. We cannot afford decent Policing
in our neighborhoods, but don't worry about the 1.8 MILLION dollars? Give
me a break! Drunken sailors and college students have more fiscal
responsibility. Minneapolis seriously needs to go to a money manager or
declare bankruptcy. Perhaps one of those "Non-Profit" credit advisors you
see on television?
Proper Police and Public Safety, hauling the garbage, and fixing the streets
are the priority. If anything is left over then you can play. Affordable
homeownership should be the first toy we invest in, and after that let the
politicians play. It is like advising a drunk about what to do with his
paycheck. We need to the safety, the housing, and the food, and only then
can the politicians go out and get drunk. You can't give your parasite
drunk buddies money until the "Children" are taken care of.
The excuse that it is chump change compared to the "Target", (and other 50
MILLION dollar fiascos), is just not worth hearing when you are as broke as
the Mayor and Council claim we are. Remember "Homer", no safety, housing and
food for the kids, then no drunken binges with your buddies. We need a
referendum to that effect. {Responsibilities for public safety and public
services must be met before any expenditure for ANY other purpose can be
made.}
That is the only way we are ever going to get these "good old girls and
boys" under control.
Having grown up with drunks and poverty, I know it is tough! But we all have
to be there to help the Mayor and Council recover. We have to stop enabling
them. We just have to keep reminding them. "Take care of the 'Children'
FIRST." Remember all the City's people are our 'family'.
