No great surprises here- The Northside Target has been just going through the motions for years. Target Corporation clearly never gave a rip about this store- they were just trying to look like good corporate citizens by plopping a store down in the 'hood. Poor service, seemed like half the stuff was out of stock, long waits at the checkouts... Northsiders will not miss Target.

What next for the southwest corner of Broadway and Lyndale? Perhaps we could have our Ford garage back... of course the automakers would never grant a franchise in such a location. Never mind that a new Ranger for $150 a month is a lot less than a lot of working class folks are spending on dying Hyundis and such. And even if I wrangled a franchise out of Ford the city would kill the deal for sure- they'd rather see the place sit vacant for a decade than let the car dealers return to West Broadway. We could use a toy store again too... Council Member Samuels. you looking for a good retirement gig?

hanging on in Hawthorne,
