I called the 5th precinct community response team a couple days ago to report the drug dealing activity from the rental property on our corner. The dealers took a little time off for Memorial day weekend but were back in business this week.
Since the time I made the call, the street patrol officers have driven by several times. The cops on bikes peddled by last night.
The drug dealers must be nervous because they accused a woman who lives in an apartment building across the street of spying on them and telling the police. I was out watering my garden last night and they were staring me down as well.
Today, I noticed a police car parked right outside the property. It was there when I left for work and there when I got home. Another one was parked down the block this evening. The woman who lives in the drug dealing house was outside yelling expletives at the police when I was out watering this evening.
I don't know if all this police attention was coincidental or part of the new strategic approach to problem areas the police have been talking about the last few days but WOWWIE WOWWIE WOWWIE!
I am very grateful for the police resource that have been dedicated to this problem and very much appreciate the prompt attention.
Needless to say, there's no drug dealing here tonight. The usual street traffic was down to a minimum. My guess is they will get frustrated by their inability to be in business here and leave. YEAH! Feelin' good in the neighborhood!
