It was with considerable amazement that I read David Shove making a
favorable comparison between the Green Party and a small, isolated
nation that is ruled by a dictator. Perhaps conservative talk show
hosts are correct, when they compare the American Left to a
watermelon.
You say you want a revolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world....
You tell me it's the institution
Well you know
You better free your mind instead....

Call me a pessimist, but I really don't think that changing the
boundaries of city election districts will have much effect on the
lives of more than a miniscule number of Minneapolis citizens --
those with a personal stake in the outcome of the elections. The
elephant in the living room is that Minneapolis is mostly controlled
by Hennepin County and the State Legislature.
Try this anarchist idea on for size. Let the Republicans cut the
bloated government, and use the tax savings to build self-actuated
economic alternatives to the rat race of capitalism and state
bureaucracy. It is my understanding that tithing is a common
practice among Christian churches. Perhaps the Left could emulate
the practice. It would certainly foster more freedom than a welfare
check.
FREEDOM -- from Greek, meaning the "domain of love"
In other words, you have freedom when you love your domain, when you
love what you do with your life.
