Bring a little more upbeat than this list usually is except for the Ann Berget debacle this week - that was a stitch.

Thought some folks might be interested in this with all the talk these days about the Green City Initiative of the Mayor's and Council. Wish I could go but am working hard on the impacts of the state LGA cuts on Park Board those nights (oh joy, oh rapture!).  Have a Green drink for me.
TWIN CITIES GREEN DRINKS
June 11, 2003 (Wed.), 6:00ish pm, Minneapolis, MN
* Hosted by Green Drinks International
* In 3 dozen cities around the world, people who work in the
sustainability/environmental field meet up monthly for conversation
and refreshments at informal sessions known as Green Drinks.
People from NGOs, academia, government and business are
welcome -- every second Wednesday-of-the-month -- at Twin
Cities gatherings.
There is no charge to attend, but hobnobbers will want to
purchase diverse organic foods/drinks (including beer and wine) at
the current venue, the Birchwood Cafe (see
http://www.birchwoodcafe.com/ for directions). The Birchwood is a
former creamery nestled in south Minneapolis' quiet Seward
neighborhood, and one of the Twin Cities' culinary gems and
active supporters of sustainability. To learn more about Green
Drinks see http://www.greendrinks.org (click on "Twin Cities").

The story, from Rumplestiltskin to War and Peace, is one of the basic tools invented by the human mind for the purpose of gaining understanding. There have been great societies that did not use the wheel, but there have been no societies that did not tell stories."
--Ursula K. Le Guin, 1979 (As printed by Dear Abby 5/29/03)
