Biernat appeal on delay of prison term denied Published May 31, 2003
A bid by former Minneapolis City Council Member Joe Biernat to stay out of prison has been rejected by the Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Biernat's request was rejected Friday in a brief order. He asked the Appeals Court to review a district court's denial of his bid to stay out of prison while his conviction is appealed. It was unclear when he would start his 21-month term for five felonies resulting from a public corruption case. http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/3911465.html Shawn Lewis, Field Neighborhood -- _______________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup TEMPORARY REMINDER: 1.
