I also have been looing for free woodchips, which were plentiful last
year. I was wondering if the city was not trimming trees this year. . .

Subject: [Mpls] Is there still free compost in Mpls ?

Was looking to get some free compost in Minneapolis at the 620 Malcolm
Street SE site, where I've been going for the past couple of years. I am
told that they no longer give away free compost, but charge $12 per
cubic
yard. They charge less for smaller loads like the 5 gallon buckets in my
trunk. Additionally, they told me that the 620 Malcolm site is
temporarily
out of compost, and I should go to the Pierce Butler Route site about 4
blocks east of Snelling Ave. in St. Paul - which I did and had to pay $5
for
7 five-gallon buckets full.

I also checked out the U of M St Paul campus site that I had heard
about.
There I found a notice telling me I should go to the Pierce Butler site.

Does anyone happen to know of any place in or near Mpls where a gardener
can
still get free compost? Also, I would like to know where I can get some
free, or almost free, shredded wood mulch?

a
wild turkey poking around in Bassett Creek Park. Wondering if this could
possibly be the first sighting of a wild turkey within the city
boundaries
of Minneapolis in recent decades? It is the first I've ever heard of.)

1. Don't feed the troll! Ignore obvious flame-bait.

change the subject (Mpls-specific, of course.)
